Nord Stream 2: the US increased pressure on European companies

The White House has increased pressure on European companies involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2. This writes DW on Saturday, November 21.

The U.S. Presidential Administration is already in contact with the companies and warns them about sanctions.

“The USA does not want to impose against European companies. We make these calls to warn them and give them time to withdraw from the project,” the source said, expressing confidence in the pipeline’s imminent collapse.

Earlier Bloomberg reported that Nord Stream 2 is doomed because of new US sanctions. The new sanctions will affect insurance companies and technical certification companies. It will be very difficult to launch the gas pipeline.
