The number of confirmed cases of infection with the new coronavirus in the world exceeded 47.36 million, having increased for 24 hours by more than 436 thousand. According to the data published on Wednesday by the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of deaths increased by more than 7 thousand, having exceeded 1.21 million.

On November 4, WHO received information about 47,362,304 infected and 1,211,986 dead. The number of those infected per day increased by 436 068, and the number of deaths increased by 7 084.
The daily figure of 557 334 infected persons recorded on October 31 is considered to be a record for the moment. WHO statistics take into account only officially confirmed data on cases of infection and deaths provided by the states.
Almost half of all cases of infection recorded in the world during the previous day falls on Europe — 214 184. The second place is occupied by North and South America (127 706), the third — by Southeast Asia (55 673).
According to WHO, the United States has the highest number of infected people — 9 193 765. Next come India (8 313 876), Brazil (5 554 206), Russia (1 693 454), France (1 469 508), Spain (1 259 366), Argentina (1 183 131), Colombia (1 093 256), Great Britain (1 073 886), Mexico (933 155), Peru (906 545) and Italy (759 829).
