Spiegel claims that the chancellor’s visit to the Russian opposition should become a sign of Germany’s determination for the Russian authorities.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel secretly visited the Russian opposition activist Alexey Navalny in Charite clinic in Berlin. This was reported by Spiegel on Monday, September 28.
According to the material, this is a sign of how devoted the Chancellor is to Navalny and is not ready to leave the case without finishing it.
“The fact that the chancellor herself has visited the opposition politician must be a sign for the Russian government that Berlin will not give in to this case and will find out the truth,” Spiegel writes.
Earlier it was reported that the court arrested the apartment of Russian opposition activist Alexey Navalny in Moscow’s Maryino district.
At that, Navalny will stay in Germany until the end of his rehabilitation course. Navalny fully regained consciousness two weeks ago and is now undergoing a rehabilitation course.
