The German government’s press service has circulated Chancellor Angela Merkel’s New Year message to the country’s citizens. In this text, the pandemic is named the political, social, and economic problem of the century.
“The pandemic caused a crisis that affected all of us. I will not embellish anything, this is a difficult period for our country. And so it will remain for a certain period,” Merkel said.
According to her, various “conspiracy theories” spread during the pandemic are not only wrong and dangerous but also cynical and cruel.
