An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 was recorded in the eastern Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
This was announced on Wednesday by the Canadian state earthquake watch service.
The outbreak lay at a depth of 18 km; the epicenter was located near the small settlement of Makkovik. It is reported that its inhabitants must have felt tremors. There is no data on casualties and destruction.
