French President Emmanuel Macron has completed the period of isolation in which he was due to infection with the coronavirus, Radio France Internationale reports, citing the Elysee Palace.
“The president of the republic no longer has symptoms of COVID-19. The President of the Republic wishes French women and French women happy holidays during this special period and knows that he can count on everyone in the joint confrontation with COVID-19, ” the presidential office said in a press release.
Macron was in self-isolation for seven days, during which he continued to work through telephone and video communications.
On December 17, Macron tested positive for coronavirus. The French President suffered from COVID-19 in a relatively mild form — he said that he experienced fatigue, headache, and he also had a dry cough.
