Macron questioned the possibility of the Sputnik V vaccine to speed up vaccination in the EU

French President Emmanuel Macron on CBS expressed doubt that the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” will be able to speed up the process of vaccination of the population in the European Union.

According to him, the European health authorities have not yet approved the vaccine.

“The Russian vaccine is not approved by our authorities, so I don’t think a Russian vaccine is an option now in terms of speeding up vaccination, as it will take time to get permission from the European agency and it will take time to produce it on our continent,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of San Marino began to partially cancel anti-coronavirus restrictions after the start of vaccination of the population with the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V”.

On April 15, Serbian Minister Nenad Popovic said that Serbia is the first country in Europe to start producing the Sputnik V vaccine.
