Many international leaders are already trying to prevent a full-scale war in Israel — French President Emmanuel Macron appealed to Netanyahu.
French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the actions of Palestinian militants against the background of the ongoing shelling of Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, the press service of the Elysee Palace reports.
On May 14, the French leader called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and conveyed through him his condolences to the families of those killed in the Hamas rocket attacks.
In addition, Macron assures: Paris is committed to the security of Israel and its right to self-defense. At the same time, it calls for the immediate restoration of peace with Palestine because of concerns about the civilian population in the Gaza Strip.
The French President assured that his country will ”fully“ participate in the UN Security Council meeting on the situation between Israel and Palestine, which will be held on May 16.
In turn, as a sign of solidarity with Israel, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz ordered to raise the flag of this country on the roof of the Federal Chancellor’s office and published a corresponding photo on Twitter.

Recall that the American leader Joe Biden has already called Netanyahu, after which he expressed confidence that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict will soon end.
