The quarantine regime currently in force in 19 regions of France will be extended from April 3 to all regions of the country due to the deterioration of the sanitary situation. This was announced on Wednesday by French President Emmanuel Macron in a televised address to the nation.
“The rules, which were previously introduced in 19 departments of the country, will be extended to the whole of France on Saturday evening,” he said.
According to Macron, they will be in effect within the next four weeks.
Macron said that the authorities will strengthen control and sanctions for violating the quarantine regime.
