London authorities declared an emergency situation in the city because of the coronavirus

The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan declared an emergency situation in the city due to the threat of overcrowding of hospitals in connection with the epidemic COVID-19.

He stated that every thirtieth inhabitant of London is now sick. Khan also noted that the British health service could “overheat” if action is not taken immediately. “[Then] more people will die,” he said.

Earlier, imposed a third national quarantine because of a pandemic coronavirus. As of January 5, English schools will switch to remote work mode, only children of “key” professions: doctors, social workers, firefighters, police officers, couriers, salespeople will be allowed to go to school. People will only be allowed to leave home for a walk, to see a doctor, or to go to the store. Citizens with severe chronic diseases are advised not to leave the house.
