The Kremlin has named a condition for the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, where the conflict between Yerevan and Baku escalated a week ago. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian president, told the Kremlin.
According to him, Russia can take such a step only with the consent of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Earlier Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan was ready to discuss the issue of introducing Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. Answering a question about whether he would like to see Russian peacekeepers in the conflict zone, the head of the government stressed that such a decision could be made in a broader context within the OSCE Minsk Group.
Armed clashes in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) began on September 27. Yerevan and Baku accused each other of escalating the conflict.
