Kit Harington revealed that he was raised in a gender-neutral environment

33-year-old actor Kit Harington in an interview with The Telegraph spoke about his childhood and how he was brought up in a “gender-neutral environment.” The Game of Thrones actor admitted that his mother, playwright Deborah Jane Catsby, raised him as a person with fickle gender identity.

I asked her to buy me Mighty Max, and she bought me a Polly Pocket. I asked for Action Men and received a doll. It was a very gender-neutral environment. And I grew up in it.

— he admitted.

The actor also said that he never wants to play characters like Jon Snow again.

I feel that emotionally men have a problem, a kind of blockage that came from World War II and was passed down from generation to generation. We don’t talk about how we feel, as it shows our weakness because it’s not masculine. Having played a quiet man who was a hero, I feel that I have to move forward, that I no longer want to play such roles,

Kit said.

He added that he did not consider this role to be very courageous.

This is not a role the world should see more than others.

— he concluded.

A new film starring Kit Harington, the fantasy Eternals, will be released next February. The film, in which he co-starred with his Game of Thrones co-star Richard Madden, Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and other stars, will tell about superhumans who secretly live on Earth and protect people from monsters.
