The leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un, said about the tense situation with food in the country. It is caused by last year’s typhoon and a poor grain harvest.
“Due to the damage caused by last year’s typhoon, the plan for growing grain was not implemented, and therefore at the moment there is a tense situation with the provision of food to the population,” the North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun quoted Kim Jong-un as saying.
The statement was made by the leader of the DPRK at the plenum of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea. He urged to prepare for a “difficult campaign”.
