Iran calls “nuclear terrorism” incident at Natanz site

The incident at the nuclear facility in Iran’s Natanz was the result of an attack, said Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran’s Vice President and Head of the country’s Atomic Energy Organization.

“Iran, while condemning this despicable act, stresses that the international community and the International Atomic Energy Agency must confront this nuclear terrorism,” ISNA quoted him as saying.

Salehi added that Iran reserves the right to take retaliatory measures against the perpetrators of the attack.

As it became known earlier, an emergency situation occurred in the energy distribution system at the nuclear facility in the Iranian city of Natanz.

The incident did not lead to human injuries or environmental pollution, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran stressed.
