“Indian” coronavirus strain reaches the UK

Perhaps an even more dangerous “Indian” strain of coronavirus has been identified in the UK. Doctors recorded 73 cases of infection in England and four in Scotland.

So far, not much is known about this new strain. Doctors are studying it. While it is not known how resistant it is to the body’s immune response, it will be labeled as a “ variant of concern.”

The so-called “Indian” strain of coronavirus contains two mutations in the spike protein. Because of this, it can gain the ability to avoid the body’s immune system response, meaning it can be more dangerous.
