In the UAE, hotels will be allowed to cook kosher meals

The first permission to serve kosher dishes was received by the restaurant in the famous seven-star hotel Emirates Palace in the form of a palace, which is located on the waterfront of Abu Dhabi.

The Department of Culture and Tourism in the capital’s emirate of the UAE has begun issuing certificates to local hotels for serving kosher meals in restaurants when visited by Jewish tourists. This was announced on Tuesday, October 20, by the Emirati newspaper The National, citing a department representative.

It is specified that the certificates are free, and their validity period is 12 months from the date of issue of the document.

In order to receive the certificate, restaurants, and cafes in hotels must set aside a special place in the kitchen for preparing only kosher food in accordance with the requirements of the Jewish system of ritual rules — kashrut.

“In addition, hotels are required to mark all kosher dishes in a special way on the menu,” the newspaper said.
