In the Czech Republic, two people were killed due to a chemical leak at the plant

At an industrial plant in the Czech city of Pilsen, there was a leak of substances with a high concentration of sulfur compounds. As a result of the emergency, seven people were injured, two of them died. This was reported on Friday, June 18, by the publication iDnes.

According to reports, the incident occurred in the closed premises of the wastewater treatment plant. Experts have recorded a high concentration of hydrogen sulfide and sulfite in the air.

Three victims were able to leave the building on their own, while four had to be taken out and urgently hospitalized. Two of them died in a medical facility, and two more are in a serious condition in intensive care.

It is noted that the police blocked the roads that lead to the enterprise. Meanwhile, rescuers advised local residents not to open the windows and at the same time assured that people are not in danger.

The reasons and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

Earlier in , eight people were killed and three others were injured as a result of a leak of methyl formate during the unloading of containers with this substance at the company building.
