A huge nuclear waste disposal site will be built in the Czech Republic by 2065. This is reported by local media.
The storage facility at a depth of 500 meters will contain thousands of tons of spent nuclear fuel from the Temelin and Dukovany nuclear power plants. The burial ground will be located near these stations in a sparsely populated area.
Now radioactive waste is stored in special warehouses directly at the nuclear power plant. The authorities will allocate 111 billion kroons (approximately 4.1 billion euros) for the creation of the burial ground.
