In Slovakia, they demand to publish a secret contract for the purchase of Sputnik V

The President of Slovakia, Zuzana Chaputova, called for the publication of the contract for the purchase of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine by her country as soon as possible.

This is reported by Aktuality.

Chaputova also noted that the reason for the Russian demand for the return of vaccines is a different problem than that indicated by the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

“After a thorough study of the contract, I can state two facts. In my opinion, this is a contract that should have been properly published in the appropriate order, ” the head of state said.

“In addition to the contract, I also asked for a letter dated April 6, which the Russian side sent to the Slovak side with a request to return the vaccine. The public was informed that the reason why the Russian side made such a request was that the State Institute for Drug Control had tested the Sputnik V vaccine in a laboratory that had not passed the necessary certification. On the basis of both documents examined, I claim that this statement is not true. The reason for the request for return was another fact, ” Chaputova added.

At the same time, she did not disclose the true reason for the demand to return the vaccine.

Chaputova expressed hope that after the publication of the contract, ” the public will no longer be concerned about the spread of false information about who violated the contract for the supply of the vaccine.”

“As for the publication of the contract, we are now analyzing the subject. Due to the current terms of the contract, we can not comment on its parts now, ” the Ministry of Health of Slovakia said in turn.

As reported, the Russian Direct Investment Fund asked Slovakia to return the batch of the Sputnik V vaccine transferred to it for “violation of the contract”.

As you know, Slovakia is facing a political crisis after two small parties announced a possible withdrawal from the ruling coalition due to the government’s purchase of 2 million doses of the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus “Sputnik V”.

Prime Minister Igor Matovich resigned, and Eduard Geger took his place.
