In Italy, the Campania region, which has imposed a tight quarantine with a curfew, has erupted protests against the restrictions. Thousands of people took to the streets because of disagreement with the measures taken by the authorities.
According to Express, people chanted “freedom, freedom”. Protests covered Naples, Salerno, Nocera, and other cities in the region.
Demonstrators threw flares and flash-noise projectiles at the police, who responded with tear gas. There were unconfirmed reports that protesters stormed local government buildings.
Since the beginning of October, the number of new cases of coronavirus in Italy has increased sevenfold. The Campania region has a curfew from 23:00.
Recall that due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus, European countries continue to tighten quarantine restrictions. For example, in Denmark from October 26, it will be possible to gather in groups of no more than ten people.
