Greek doctors are registering cases in which opponents of vaccination against coronavirus refuse blood transfusions from vaccinated people in order “not to be poisoned”.
This is reported by Euractiv.
Anna Mastoracou, president of the Patra Medical Association, called on the prosecutor’s office to intervene. “Until now, we have seen unvaccinated patients who refuse to be intubated — people have died because of this too — but now we have groups who refuse blood transfusions,” she said.
Mastoracou made it clear that this was an organized network of antivaccination, not individual cases.
“If someone goes in for surgery or wants a blood transfusion and belongs to the anti-vaccination group, they demand that they not get a blood transfusion from a vaccinated person. This, of course, has no scientific basis,” she said.
As previously reported, Greece is investigating 10 vaccination centers on suspicion of issuing fake vaccination certificates.
In Greece, doctors and other health workers found guilty of issuing false vaccination or COVID-19 vaccination certificates could be fined 5,000 euros for each case of fraud.
