In Germany, the incidence of coronavirus is the lowest in almost a year

For the first time in about 11 months, the seven-day incidence of  in fell below 5.

This is reported by DPA.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a nationwide value on Saturday morning — 4.9 new infections per 100,000 residents over the past week. The indicator was 5.0 on the previous day and 5.9 on the previous week.

The last time the value was below the threshold of 5 on July 30, 2020, when it was 4.8.

The health department in also reported 671 new  infections per day. For comparison, 592 infections were registered a week ago.

Also, in the last 24 hours, 16 deaths were recorded in Germany. A week ago, 68 deaths were recorded.

Recall, on July 1, it was reported that in Germany, the delta strain accounts for half of all cases of coronavirus.
