In France, the daily increase in COVID-19 cases has decreased on record in recent months. However, mortality remains high. This is evidenced by the data of the National Health Agency.
So, during the day, 3,063 new coronavirus infections were detected in the country. This figure is almost twenty times lower than it was recorded in early November (about 60 thousand). It also contrasts with the general trend throughout the fall of 20-40 thousand new infections per day. At the same time, 372 people died from COVID-19 during the day.
In total, since the beginning of the epidemic on March, 2 million 379 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in France; 58 282 people have died.
Recall that from today in France, due to the pandemic, a curfew is introduced, it will be valid from 20: 00 to 6: 00.
Earlier, the curfew was imposed by Bavaria. In Germany, which was one of the leaders in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in Europe, a difficult epidemiological situation has come. Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for a significant tightening of restrictive measures since December 24.
