On Monday, Europe crossed the line of one million deaths from coronavirus during the pandemic – the number of deaths from COVID-19 in 52 European countries as of the evening of April 12 reached 1,000,288 people.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization said that the number of infections is growing exponentially, despite large-scale efforts to contain the pandemic.
“We are at the critical point of the pandemic right now… The trajectory of this pandemic is growing exponentially, ” said WHO Technical Director for COVID-19, Maria Van Kerkhove.
Worldwide, the coronavirus has already killed more than 2.9 million people and infected nearly 136 million.
Recall that in Belgium, the number of deaths from COVID-19 has almost halved in a week, while the number of cases of infection has slightly decreased.
