In Europe, more than a million people have died from COVID

The WHO speaks of the critical point of the pandemic – the number of infections is growing exponentially, despite large-scale efforts.

On Monday, Europe crossed the line of one million deaths from during the pandemic – the number of deaths from in 52 European countries as of the evening of April 12 reached 1,000,288 people.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization said that the number of infections is growing exponentially, despite large-scale efforts to contain the pandemic.

“We are at the critical point of the pandemic right now… The trajectory of this pandemic is growing exponentially, ” said WHO Technical Director for COVID-19, Maria Van Kerkhove.

Worldwide, the has already killed more than 2.9 million people and infected nearly 136 million.

Recall that in Belgium, the number of deaths from has almost halved in a week, while the number of cases of infection has slightly decreased.
