Greece increases order for French Rafale fighters

Greece increases its order for Rafale fighters manufactured by French company Dassault from 18 to 24 units.

It is reported by Ekathimerini.

Greek lawmakers in January approved the purchase of 18 Rafale aircraft from for 2.5 billion euros.

“Great news. Greece has just announced its intention to buy six more Rafales. Together we are moving toward a truly autonomous Europe,” said French Defense Minister Florence Parly.

Athens has increased its military purchases in recent months, developing plans to boost its military capabilities amid a dispute with neighboring Turkey over energy resources in the Mediterranean Sea.
