German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the extension of quarantine in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier on December 16, quarantine was introduced in Germany.
“We want to extend until January 31st the validity of the decisions taken in December,” Merkel said.
The politician noted that in the crisis regions of the country, due to COVID-19, people will be prohibited from moving away from home without a good reason for a distance that exceeds 15 km.
