Gaza assesses damage from conflict with Israel

The Israeli army destroyed 2,000 homes in the Gaza Strip and damaged another 15,000. Four mosques and dozens of police stations were destroyed.

Preliminary damage to the Gaza Strip from Israeli shelling amounted to $150 million. This was stated by the representative of the Palestinian Ministry of Labor in Gaza, Naji Sarhan, reports Newsru.co.il Saturday, May 22.

During the ten days of the conflict, as a result of the actions of the Defense Forces, 2 thousand houses were completely destroyed, and more than 15 thousand were damaged.

In addition, four mosques, dozens of police stations, and most of the production facilities in the industrial zone of the Gaza Strip were completely or partially destroyed.

In turn, previously estimated the damage to property from rocket attacks and vandalism at $77 million.

Recall that about 140 Ukrainians will have to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip. With a truce in place between and the Gaza Strip, the Foreign Ministry hopes to begin evacuating soon.
