France increases recruitment of cyber specialists by 70 percent

The French Ministry of Defense plans to recruit an additional 770 cyber specialists by 2025, in addition to the previously planned 1,100.

This is reported by BFMTV.

The total number of such specialists in the army by 2025 should reach 5000 people. The original plan was to have 4,000.

“Given the increase in the number and complexity of cyberattacks, I have decided to increase recruitment between 2019 and 2025,” Defense Minister Florence Parly announced.

The new specialists will be employed directly by the Army, the Directorate General for Armaments (DGA), the Directorate-General for External Security, and directly by the Cyber Defense Command (ComCyber), created in 2019.
