France has developed a plan to support fishermen after the UK exit from the EU

The French Ministry of Maritime Affairs has presented a plan to support the fishing industry in connection with the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union. This was reported on Thursday by -Presse.

“Fishermen and seafood wholesalers will be able to receive financial assistance of up to €30,000 in accordance with the degree of their dependence on fishing in British waters,” said Maritime Minister Annick Girardin.

According to the agency, the plan will provide compensation for part of the losses dependent on fishing in British water companies for a limited period. In addition, for the employees of these companies, it is envisaged to extend the status of part-time workers and conduct refresher courses. Affected firms will be offered assistance in restructuring their businesses while preserving jobs.
