Obama, in whose administration Biden served as vice president, said: “When all the votes are counted, President-elect Biden and Vice-President-elect [Kamala] Harris will have a historic victory.” “We are fortunate that Joe has what it takes to be president and is already acting the way,” Obama added.
Clinton stressed: “We now have an elected president and vice president to serve us all and unite us. Congratulations to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on a landmark victory.” Carter stated: “We are proud of their successful campaign and look forward to the positive changes they will bring.”
According to forecasts by CNN, NBC, Fox News, and the Associated Press, Biden received the 270 electoral votes he needs to defeat Republican Donald Trump for president.
Biden announced his election victory. Trump did not admit defeat, saying that the vote count cannot be considered complete. The current American leader also confirmed his intention to apply to the courts regarding the counting of votes, since, in his opinion, there were numerous violations committed by the Democrats during the elections.
