Facebook will ban fakes about COVID-19 vaccines

Facebook and Instagram social networks will remove all false claims about COVID-19 vaccines that have been disproved by health experts.

This with reference to the statement of the corporation Facebook reports Reuters.

Facebook reported on its blog that a global policy change has occurred in response to the news that COVID-19 vaccines will soon be distributed around the world.

This move expands existing Facebook rules against lies and conspiracy theories about the pandemic. The Social Network claims it is eliminating misinformation about the coronavirus, which poses a risk of “imminent” harm. In addition, other false statements that have not yet reached this threshold will be marked and restricted accordingly.

Recall that two pharmaceutical companies, Pfizer and Moderna, have asked the U.S. authorities to allow emergency use of their candidate vaccines.

The UK approved the Pfizer vaccine, ahead of the rest of the world in the race to launch the most important mass vaccination program in history.
