The German company Combi lift created conditions and ensured the safe storage of the detected substances in Lebanon.
From Lebanon, 59 containers with explosive substances were removed, which were found in the port of Beirut and its surroundings after the explosion on August 4, 2020. This was reported by the press service of the government of the country on Twitter on Wednesday, May 5.
“Under the personal supervision of (acting) Prime Minister Hassan Diyab, 59 containers of high-risk substances were removed from Lebanon eight months later, which were found in the port of Beirut and elsewhere after the catastrophic explosion on August 4,” the report said.
It is indicated that under the agreement with the Lebanese authorities, the German company Combi lift has created conditions and ensured the safe storage of the detected substances until today.
“According to the contract, these substances were taken out of Lebanon today,” the press service added.
Recall that on August 4, 2020, there were powerful explosions in the port area of Beirut. Then about 200 people were killed, a large number of buildings were destroyed. The building of the international airport was damaged.
It was also reported that Interpol has put on the wanted list two Russians and one Portuguese citizen, suspecting them of involvement in the explosion in the port of Beirut.
