The European Commission has signed an agreement to purchase a large batch of vaccines from the German pharmaceutical company BioNTech and its American partner Pfizer. This was announced on November 9 by the head of the EC Ursula von der Leyen on her Twitter account.

We are talking about the purchase of a batch of the drug in 300 million doses of injections. According to von der Leyen, the contract will be concluded soon. In addition, she emphasized the effectiveness of European scientists, pointing out that “European science works.” But at this point, she said, everyone needed to “protect each other.”

Earlier it became known about the publication of data on the third intermediate stage of trials of this vaccine. According to the results obtained, it is argued that the degree of danger of contracting coronavirus when receiving the vaccine is reduced by 90%, which indicates its high efficiency.
