Next week, the European Medicines Agency will make an official decision on the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, which applied for EU registration on December 1. The drug will be approved or rejected on December 21st.
This was announced on December 15 in a press release from the organization.
The verdict will be delivered at an extraordinary meeting of the committee on medicines for humans, which will be held on the same day.
The committee’s decision will be based on the premise that “data on quality, safety and efficacy are credible and sufficiently presented to establish that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks.”
Earlier, the publication “Bild”, referring to sources in the European Commission and the German government, reported that the decision of the European Medicines Agency on the drug will be announced before the onset of Catholic Christmas — December 23. And on December 26, mass vaccination will begin in Germany.
