EU to buy robots to disinfect hospitals

The European Commission has agreed to purchase 200 disinfection robots. They will be purchased and delivered to European hospitals in the coming weeks.

This is reported by the press service of the European Commission.

A special budget was allocated for the purchase of robots: about 12 million euros.

These robots should help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. The work will take 15 minutes to disinfect the hospital wards using ultraviolet light, and the process will be controlled by an operator who will be located outside this room.

Meanwhile, the world health organization warns that Europe could face a third wave of  early next year.
