The bodies of dozens of people believed to have died of the coronavirus have been found in India’s sacred Ganges River. This is reported by the Times of India newspaper.
It is noted that residents of the state of Bihar in the east of the country found on Monday, May 10, at least 30 decomposed corpses. Some locals claim to have seen 100-150 bodies.
According to one version, the corpses were thrown into the river by residents of coastal villages, as they could not afford cremation, traditional for Hinduism. Currently, the reservoir is being cleared of bodies by order of the local administration. They are subsequently cremated at state expense.
Earlier it was reported that doctors in the Indian state of Gujarat recorded an outbreak of mucormycosis (“black mold”) — a rare disease caused by mold fungi. According to the publication India Today, this disease is most susceptible to those who are infected with CAVID-19 or have suffered this infection.
