The authorities of Cyprus decided to seriously tighten the quarantine due to the deterioration of the situation with the coronavirus, said the Minister of Health of the republic.
According to the decision of the Council of Ministers, from April 26 to May 9, the curfew will be in effect from 21:00 to 5:00. The authorities also prohibit meetings, suspend the operation of public catering (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, eateries, and bars) and shops, except for grocery stores.
Under the new rules, you can only leave the house once a day by sending a notification, and church services (except for Easter) will lead without believers.
According to the agency, the number of cases of COVID-19 has increased in Cyprus. Over the past day, 927 new cases were registered in the republic, one person died, a total of 296 people died from the coronavirus.
Earlier it was reported that the Italian Council of Ministers approved a decree containing measures to counter the spread of COVID-19, which extended the state of emergency in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic until July 31.
