China has sharply rejected the WHO’s proposed coronavirus investigation plan

The Chinese government has sharply rejected the plan of the second phase of the investigation of the origin of the coronavirus, proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“As for the proposal to conduct the second phase of the investigation, it uses language that does not respect science and common sense. We will not follow this plan, “ the Chinese authorities said.

It is also indicated that the PRC supports the conduct of an investigation based on a scientific approach and opposes the politicization of the investigation of the origin of the virus.

On July 17, WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that the organization plans to check the laboratories near which the first cases of COVID-19 infection were detected. We are talking about the audit of those institutions in Wuhan, in the area in which the first SARS-CoV-2 cases were detected in December 2019. The verification is one of the five steps that the WHO secretariat intends to take as part of the investigation of the origin of the coronavirus.

At the end of March, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a report on the results of a trip to Wuhan, China, in order to find out the origin of the coronavirus. The report says that the pandemic is most likely not the result of a leak from the laboratory.
