In the UK, almost three thousand people will take part in a study of the effectiveness of the third dose of the vaccine
The UK has launched the world’s first clinical trial to see if an extra dose of the vaccine can protect people from COVID-19 and its variants.
This was stated by the British Minister of Health of Britain, Matt Hancock, who reports the Daily Record.
They will test seven existing vaccines to find out which drugs can be used in the upcoming autumn vaccination program.
The study will involve almost three thousand people aged 30 years and older.
Experts will test the following vaccines:
Pfizer;
AstraZeneca;
Moderna;
Novavax;
Johnson & Johnson;
Valneva;
CureVac.
After the study, experts will provide data on side effects, including among people who have a third vaccine that is different from the one used for the first two vaccinations.
Earlier it was reported that the World Health Organization does not yet see the need to introduce three doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.
