British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has called on fellow citizens to join a nationwide rally honoring 100-year-old World War II veteran Tom Moore, who died yesterday.

The prime minister called on the British at 18: 00 to pay tribute to the memory of the deceased veteran, who during the lockdown raised more than 33 million pounds by walking 100 laps in his garden with a walker without assistance.
The British Parliament also observed a minute of silence in memory of Tom Moore.
Johnson said the applause would also be for “all the medical professionals for whom he has raised money.”
The prime minister added that Sir Tom had a “long life lived well.”
Sir Tom was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after being treated for pneumonia for some time and tested positive for the coronavirus last week.
Moore has been treated for prostate and skin cancer for the past five years, according to his family. Due to this treatment, he was not vaccinated against COVID-19.
Last spring, Moore planned to raise funds for his 100th birthday to thank the NHS staff who took care of him while he was being treated for cancer and recovering from a fracture. Moore completed 100 laps in his garden with a walker without assistance.
At first, he intended to raise 1,000 pounds in this way, but his act so impressed people that hundreds of thousands of people made donations.
With his act, Moore broke two Guinness World Records. In July 2020 Queen Elizabeth II is dedicated to Tom Moore of the knights.
