The contender for the post of the head of the White House reproached Trump for keeping silent about his opinion on the situation in Belarus.
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden considers Alexander Lukashenko a “dictator”. This is stated in an interview with the politician agency Reuters, published on Saturday, September 26.
“A president hiding in fear from his own citizens, refusing to accept the will of the people, is a sign of weakness, an illegitimate autocrat, a dictator, not a strong leader,” Biden said.
He also stressed that the current US president has not yet voiced his position on the situation in Belarus, which has been covered by protests for more than a month.
“Nevertheless, President Trump refuses to speak out against Lukashenko’s actions or to offer his personal support to supporters of democracy,” recalled the candidate for the post of the American leader.
Let us remind you that earlier Lukashenko said that Belarus and Russia in the economy will be able to do without Western countries. “We need to get together, outline general plans and activities,” he commented on the prospects for the introduction of sanctions against Minsk.
