US presidential candidate the Democratic Party Joseph Biden said that he intends to seek an expansion of the sanctions list against Alexander Lukashenko’s entourage. This was announced on Tuesday, October 27 by Reuters.

“The international community should significantly expand sanctions against Lukashenko’s henchmen and freeze accounts in offshores where they store their stolen wealth,” the American democrat said.

Biden also promised that if he wins the presidential elections, he will cooperate with European partners “in order to develop a plan of economic support for a truly sovereign, democratic Belarus.”

In addition, the candidate intends to speak together with the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and the entire Belarusian people with an appeal for a peaceful transfer of power.

“So that the Belarusians, finally, could use those democratic rights, in the struggle for which they suffered such sacrifices,” the politician summed up.

As reported, earlier Biden called Lukashenko a “dictator” and reproached the current US President Donald Trump for not being able to determine his position on Belarus for a long time.
