The US Treasury Department has included eight Belarusian officials in the sanctions list.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Yuri Karaev, Minister of Finance Yuri Seliverstov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yermoshina were included in the US sanctions list.
Let us remind you that earlier the European Union put into effect a sanctions list against 40 Belarusian officials accused of violence against the opposition and falsification of the presidential election results.
All persons on the list are denied access to the EU, their assets in European banks, if found, are subject to freezing. European businesses are also prohibited from doing business with listed companies.
