Haitian police have detained the alleged organizer of the operation to assassinate the country’s president, Jovenel Moiz. This was stated by the head of the National Police of Haiti, Leon Charles.
“The first person the bandits called was Emmanuel Sanon, who is now in custody,” Charles said.
It is noted that Sanon maintained contacts with Venezuelan companies specializing in security located in the United States.
In addition, Charles said that the detainee is a citizen of Haiti, and called him one of the “developers of the murder plan”.
On the night of July 7, unknown assailants attacked the residence of the President of Haiti. The head of state died from his injuries.
The head of the Haitian National Police, Leon Charles, said that at least 26 Colombian citizens were part of the armed group that killed Moiz.
