In Switzerland, a new strain of coronavirus was discovered in two people from the UK. These are the first cases of infection with the mutated virus in the country.

The new strain was found in samples from two people who live in the UK but were in Switzerland. People who had contact with the infected were sent to self-isolation.
As of the night of December 25, more than 420 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in Switzerland. More than 6.5 thousand people have died of complications caused by a coronavirus. 318 thousand people were cured.
