A former candidate for the French presidency was arrested on charges of harassment

Former French presidential candidate Francois Asselineau, leader of the Popular Republican Union party, was detained on charges of sexual harassment and moral violence. This is reported by the newspaper Le Point.

It is noted that the investigation was launched in May 2020. The charges against Asselineau nominated his former subordinates. Since the morning of February 3, the detained politician has been answering questions from investigators.

The party leader himself believes that in this way they want to prevent him from participating in the in 2022. He denies all the charges and considers them lies and slander.

Asselineau participated in the for the presidency in 2017, eliminated after the first round with a score of 0.92 percent of the vote. He lost to the current French President Emmanuel Macron, taking ninth place out of 11.

Earlier in Finland, it was proposed to punish for sending intimate photos without asking. So, the transfer of photos of genitals was proposed to be included in the list of criminal acts and to give real terms for this.
